Good evening,
With the current freezing temperatures and wind chills, we are closely monitoring the weather conditions. The safety of our students is our top priority.
It is important for students to be dressed appropriately while waiting for the school bus. Please ensure your children wear multiple layers of warm clothing, including warm jackets, hats, and gloves. If possible, please have them wait inside a warm location until the bus arrives.
If your family is in need of resources such as winter jackets, hats, or gloves, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's principal, school counselor, or social worker. We are committed to working together to support all our families during this cold weather.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe and warm.

This has been a challenging week for many members of our community. On behalf of the RSU 9 Board of Directors and administration, I want to reaffirm our district’s commitment to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students and families. Our mission is "Working together to provide high-quality educational opportunities for all." We take this most important work seriously and are focused on students each day to meet this challenge. I hear and respect the concerns of those who have reached out this week. Your words and voices matter. As we move forward, let's welcome different opinions and disagreements with civility, listening, and responding with respect -- remembering that we are one community, and that our students are watching and learning from us all. As part of this communication I am sharing the attached letter from Mt. Blue Middle School Principal James Black.
